More about the health and wellbeing board summit

Statutory health and wellbeing boards are being established across the country allowing local authorities to take a more strategic approach to promoting the integration of health and local government services. The boards will bring together those involved across the NHS, public health, adult social care and children’s services, elected representatives and representatives from HealthWatch to plan for health and social care needs together.

This summit set out policy developments and direction to date; provided insights from early implementers; and considered some of the key challenges around building new relationships with GP consortia, making links to Public Health and creating successful governance and accountability arrangements.

  • The health and wellbeing board is workable stating point which involve the maginalised community to take action on their health and wellbeing agenda. I would recommend the Lambeth board strategies, to me the their action plans apear to be practical and will motivate individual to take part and action to better their health and wellbeing, the workshops will raise awareness on health challenges and together will strategiese the pathway for prevention and reduction of health inequalities within the local communities.
