Patients' involvement

We believe that involving patients in our conferences and events is important. Our conferences are an opportunity for people to debate important issues in health and social care and patients and carers are an essential part of those discussions.

Free bursary places

In order to ensure that patients and carers have the opportunity to contribute to our conferences and events, we offer free bursary places. To apply for a bursary place please email us a short paragraph on why you wish to attend.

Patients on the agenda

We always endeavour to have at least one patient on the agenda, either chairing, presenting, facilitating or on a panel. Where relevant, we invite speakers to bring along service users to co-present. When patients are speaking, chairing or facilitating at a conference we offer expenses in accordance with INVOLVE guidelines.

Planning the event

Where possible, we try to ask advice from patients on suggestions for speakers and content for the day.

Venue

We use an accessible venue. The King’s Fund is DDA compliant and fully accessible – please see here for more information.

Materials

We put all presentations on our website after the event along with any other media – video/audio etc which may have been produced. We always live-tweet our conferences and use a hashtag so that people who are not present can join in with the conversation.
