Published in January 2006 to celebrate the completion of the first 23 EHE schemes outside London, this publication includes case studies of nine of the projects and a summary of an evaluation that was commissioned to assess the improvements to the environment, the benefits to patients and staff, and value for money. An

Enhancing the Healing Environment: A guide for NHS Trusts

This practical guide, published in 2004, shows how staff teams with no specialist knowledge can make dramatic changes to areas such as waiting rooms by making better use of existing resources. It sets out the case for investing in good hospital design and offers a step-by-step guide to planning a design project. It includes before-and-after photographs of successful EHE projects across London.
Evaluation of the King's Fund's Enhancing the Healing of the Environment Programme

This December 2003 report provides an evaluation of three cohorts of NHS acute trusts across London that took part in the EHE initiative. The report includes case studies of projects undertaken at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust, St George's Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital.
