NHS market futures work programme

During 2005, the King’s Fund examined three critical aspects of the new NHS market - regulation, commissioning and primary care, and incentives. New papers sought to prompt debate on each of these topics about the consequences of policy to date, the main challenges outstanding, and the best options for future reform. We also hosted discussion events for senior policy-makers, managers and practitioners to get wider input to an analysis of the future direction for the new NHS market.

The series was launched with an overview paper, NHS Market Futures: Exploring the impact of health service market reforms, by Richard Lewis, Fellow in Health Policy at the King's Fund, and Jennifer Dixon, Policy Director at the King’s Fund.
