Katy Steward is director of the Board Leadership Programme for chairs and non-executive directors in the London region and director of the national Foundation Trust Governors’ Forum. Formerly she worked at Monitor on governance policy and worked closely on the governance code for foundation trusts. Katy’s role at The King's Fund is to identify ways to support and strengthen boards and their governance.

Katy has worked as an adviser to a wide range of organisations in the private and public sector. She started her career as an anthropologist and studied at Cambridge University and Imperial College London where she did a PhD on organisational learning.
