About us

The King's Fund seeks to understand how the health system in England can be improved. Using that insight, we work with individuals and organisations to shape policy, transform services and bring about behaviour change.

Our history

The King's Fund first came into being in 1897 as the Prince of Wales Hospital Fund for London, a foundation endowed by a royal patron.

Partnerships and fundraising

Although around half yearly expenditure is derived from our assets, we believe that we have to at least match that with generated income if we are to have the impact required.
