Vinice Thomas

Programme Manager, Integrated Care Programme

Vinice Thomas joined The King's Fund from Harrow Primary Care Trust where she was the Assistant Director of Nursing/Clinical Governance. During her time at Harrow PCT, Vi also acted as the Director of Infection Prevention and Control.

Vi has a track record of leading change within clinical teams in health care and has worked with boards and senior managers to review and develop their governance. She has an MBA in Health Service Management and a PGDiP in Education. She is a skilled facilitator and has over 20 years experience of working across a variety of services and settings within health care in senior clinical and managerial roles.

Vi recently worked as a portfolio manager at the Department of Health within the Healthcare Associated Infection and Cleanliness Division on a highly successful national programme. During her time with the team, she chaired the Performance Improvement Network’s national conferences, and led the implementation of the Productive Leader initiative. She is a visiting lecturer for a university and a trained practitioner in programme and project management. She is currently undergoing accreditation as a personal and corporate coach.

Vi is an active member of the Chief Nursing Officer’s Black & Ethnic Minority Advisory Committee, and sits on the editorial board for the British Journal for Health Care Assistants. She has just had published her first book on the Fundamentals of Infection Prevention and Control which is available in English and Polish, and is the co-author of the King’s Fund Maternity Toolkit.

Here at The King's Fund, Vi was the Service Improvement Lead for our national Safer Births programme and is currently the programme manager for the Integrated Care Programme.
