Richard Bohmer
During his fellowship with the Fund, Richard will work on a variety of projects including: contributing to the work of the Commission on Leadership and Management in the NHS, supporting us with our thought leadership work and looking at how the delivery of health services can be transformed to produce better value for patients.
Richard is a New Zealand-trained physician and Professor of Management Practice at Harvard Business School. He graduated from the Auckland University School of Medicine and has practiced hospital and primary medicine in New Zealand and England.
At the Harvard Business School he teaches an MBA course on health care operations management and is the faculty chair for two executive programmes in health care delivery. He teaches and consults on health management issues in numerous locations around the world.
Richard has published on a number of topics including: quality improvement, technology adoption and operations strategy in health care. He is the author of Designing Care: Aligning the Nature and Management of Health Care (HBS Press, 2009).
