Petronella Mwasandube
Petronella is a health and diversity performance consultant with 30 years' experience in the NHS. She is a nurse by background with experience in specialist areas of coronary and intensive care in Newham and Portsmouth.
In 1999 Petronella was appointed Deputy Executive Nurse at Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS Trust. Her role and responsibilities included development of a nurse strategy, commissioning of nurse training, development of a policy and practice framework for nursing and midwifery, discharge planning and recruitment of nurses for the sustainability of a viable service in Windsor and Slough. She also worked at North Hampshire NHS Trust where she managed clinical governance, litigation and risk management.
Petronella has experience of working in contracts and her role covered the district wide commissioning and delivery plans of acute and specialist services (eg, renal and neonatal care), management of service level agreements and monitoring of waiting list activity.
Petronella has worked with the Care Improvement Services Partnership and has been responsible for developing a framework for delivering race equality in mental health in the South East and South West.
Petronella is committed to the delivery of high-quality patient care, including minority ethnic service users, ensuring services are accessible, culturally appropriate and responsive to their needs.
