Working with partners

We recognise the value of working in partnership with other organisations to help extend our reach and impact.

We work with a wide range of organisations – some of whom we fund as part of service evaluations or pilots; some who commission us to undertake work for them; and others with whom we work jointly to achieve shared goals. They include other charities and voluntary organisations, government departments and agencies, NHS bodies and commercial companies. For example:

  • For our Safer Births programme, we worked in partnership with a range of organisations, including Royal College of Midwives, Royal College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians, National Patient Safety Agency, NHS Litigation Authority and Centre for Maternal and Child Enquiries.
  • We collaborate over publications, such as Giving GPs budgets for commissioning: what needs to be done? This briefing paper was developed jointly by: Nuffield Trust, The King's Fund, NHS Confederation, NHS Alliance, National Association of Primary Care and Royal College of General Practitioners.

In addition, we combine our wider partnership working in the health care sector with an element of income generation through a Corporate Partnerships Programme and by offering sponsorship opportunities of a range of activities including conferences, seminars and 'thought leadership' events.

All partnerships are governed by our ethical collaboration policy. We are committed to ensuring that any partnership is open and that there are no conflicts of interest that cannot be safely managed.
